I work is there an easier way to toilet train my 12 week old pug when i work full time... people say crate, but i work from 8am -5pm and think it is way to long to leave a puppy in a crate - i put her with my other dog so she is not lonely while i am at work (recommended by my breeder) - but the training thing is getting harder for me as my other dog is going on the newspaper too because of the puppy! Any suggestions???

What is the best car seat protector when toilet training a child? I plan on toilet changing my son using toilet training underwear and vinyl pants and completely doing away with diapers and not wasting my money on pullup which is basically a pull up diaper. Anyway, for when we are out and about what is the best product out there that I can place in his carseat, in case he has a toilet accident in the car. I looked at the piddle pad on Amazon and it has more bad than good reviews so what is the best idea? Anyone with experience and great advice is thanked.
What do you think of toilet training a 9month old who can't crawl yet? Someone I know is potty training a 9/10month old. It seems really odd to me, but that doesn't mean its wrong, Maybe they're on the money and we're wrong for doing it a lot later.. I just can't understand how you can teach a baby who can't walk, let alone crawl to take himself to the toilet. What do you think about it? Have you potty trained early? I also think i'm too lazy to try that young.

Any tips/ideas with puppy toilet and crate training? I have recently bought a puppy, she is a very small breed chihuaha size (12 weeks old), I decided the best way to toilet train would be with a crate but I would be grateful of any tips. She hates being in the crate but I am doing my best to ignore her when she cries, obviously I let her own regularly for the toilet and she is not shut in there all the time. I have only had her two days so I understand she will take time to get used to it. Any ideas what to do if I catch her going to the toilet in the house? Please don't suggest rubbing her nose in it.
Survey for cat owners about toilet training? I'm seriously thinking about toilet training my cat. But I'd really like to know my chances of training her. So, if you tried and weren't successful, when did you give up and why? If you were successful, how long did it take? I'm just thinking that if it seems very do-able to train a cat, why aren't more cats toilet trained?

What training toilet works best for potty training boys? We have the traditional potty training toilet that sits on the floor. When do you start toilet training? My daughter keeps grabbing at her diaper after she pee's and she has to stop whatever shes doing to pay attention to going poop. How do you get a 3 year old boy to become intererested in toilet training.? He is a very bright child. He enjoys cartoons and game systems such as game boy and game cube. He knows how to use the remote control without problems and the tivo. When asked to use the toilet or set him on the toilet he cry's and says "I want my biper" and try's to run to get his diapers. He try's to pick out his diapers at the store. We have tried to explain how good it would be to be a big boy like his siblings and tried to get him to pick out new underwear but he doesn't want them, he just requests "his bipers" I have tried everything that worked with his siblings and he shows no interest. He also doesn't care if his diaper is ready to explode because it is so full. I have no idea on how to get him interested. I would appreciate any and all advice.

Do you think I should start toilet training my one year old? I think it's time to start working with my son. He's only 13 months, but he stays mostly dry at night, and only has a few wet diapers during the day. (He gets plenty of fluids, he just wets alot at one time.) I have no real expectations, I just think this is the most opportune time for both of us. He is very eager to please, can understand when we want him to do something, and responds well to praise. He also learns signs quickly, though he only signs a couple back...

What can we do for toilet training on a 4 yr old? My bf's 4 yr old son is having trouble going to the bathroom in time when he's having a bowel movement. He does just fine when he has to urinate. We have tried taking him every 4 hours but he just screams and cries and later goes in his pants.
Toilet training? My 3 yr old son is having a problem with part of the training. We moved this fall, he was being toilet trained before we moved. He wouldn't make it to the toilet when he had to go pee, but no problem going poop on the toilet. We had to live in a motor home for 2 months while we waited for our new house to close. He was in a diaper for those 2 months. We have been here since November and I've been trying to toilet train him again. No problems now with going pee on the toilet, doesn't even want my help now!! But, now he poops in his underwear. He has pooped twice in the toilet here. He'll go and hide when he has to poop. I have tried everything I can think of to persuade him to go on the toilet. I praised him the two times he's actually made it there and made a big deal out of it. I don't know what to do!! I've even tried persuading him with new "CARS" underwear. Still isn't working. I'm open for any suggestions!!!!

What am I doing wrong when it comes to toilet training? My daughter is three years old. She turned three in March and I've been trying every method know to man on how to toliet train her and nothing is working. She's isn't my only child so this isn't nothing new to me, but I am really getting worried about this. Her physician tells us not to worry because she is developing fine but I am definitely starting to worry. Please give me suggestions, comments, and feedback! Thank you!
When is the right time to start toilet training? My mum was saying she had us using the potty for number 2's from about 10 months and out of nappies altogether by the time we were 2. I am keen to do it as as soon as poss with my son, he is 9 months old now and poo's at roughly the same time every day so it would be easy for me to get him on the potty for this? Any hints appreciated I'm not actually expecting him to be fully toilet trained for ages yet! Just considering catching poo's in the potty and get him used to the sensation. And for the record, my mum isn't lying - she didn't get poopy nappys from us from the age of 10 months cos she would place us on the potty and the rest just followed. I am not trying to make my son grow up! Using a loo is something we all have to do at some point so whats wrong with gettin him used to it early on? Also, would like to stop adding to landfill with nappies and save some pennys! Thanks for the tips and one last question - why bother answering q's if your just going to b rude? Your really not gettin the point are u jessica - I don't expect him to tell me he needs to poo then go to the loo himself at 9 months! I really think you need some form of therapy - MUPPET!
Help with toilet training a handicapped child? I have a 4 year old daughter who has just started to walk on her own. She is not, however able to communicate with me or my husband. How can I potty train her? Also, are there any books available that can help me with this? I have only seen ones that help parents with children that are not handicapped. Any help I can get would greatly help us as she is consistently removing her diaper whether or not it is wet.
Can anyone help me in toilet training my son? I have already been through this with my two girls, but my boy is an entirely new challenge. We have tried the Cheerios trick, but I need to get him to tell me he has to go before he does go.

Which is easier? Toilet training or litter training? Which is easier: Toilet training your cat/kitten or litter training your cat/kitten? Why is it easier? How'd you do it? Toilet training is where you teach the cat to go to the bathroom in your toilet. Litter training is teaching the cat to go to the bathroom in a box of litter.

Have, or is anyone out there, trying the diaperless baby method of toilet training their babies? I was reading about this and found it quite interesting. What websites are out there that can teach, or show, what the signs are? Also, I would like to know what you think of the practice, if you are practicing, and the upside & downside, as well. My grandson is 1 Month and 2 weeks old, is this too young? What ages are/were your children when you started? Any other pertinent information will be helpful!
need help with toilet training my puppy? I have a 16 week old maltese shih tzu my problem is I have been toilet training him for 3 weeks now to no avail I take him outside after meals and every hr or so when I do he is not very interested most of the times he just wants to play outside and eat the grass and whatever twigs are out there. I can be out there for ever sometimes. But when I give up and bring him inside he goes and does it inside. It is so frustrating. My home is open living and it is quite difficult to keep him in one spot although I try and keep an eye on him he is so fast. At night he is quite good take him outside about 10 and he will hold till 6 in the morning. I know this cause at 3am I get up all he wants to do is sleep so I put him back in his crate. Do not know what to do please can anybody help me.
I need help with toilet training my new puppy.? My puppy is 9 weeks old. The first few days we got him he went on the training pads. Now he goes all over the house. I know that he needs to go to the toilet I can see the signs, so I take him to where the traning pads are and he doesn't go, he won't even sniff them. I Put him on a lead sometimes so he won't walk away and go elsewhere, at times I have waited up to half an hour for him to go but he won't. As soon as I let him away from the area he will go anywhere else in the house. What can I do? The pees everywhere are starting to drive me crazy.
Training a 5 year old cat to use the toilet??? Alright I've asked this q one other time and got a bunch of yahoos and got no help except for a couple of good answers. My cat Kiki is about 23 pounds and 3 1/2 feet long all streched out. He is on diet food and is actually just a big cat. Anyways we have the biggest litter box ever made and he still tetters on the edge and just dangles his but over the litter. He also doesn't cover his poo. We figure he has the technique down we just need to switch madiums. Has anyone successfully toilet trained an older cat? I would fill the bathtub with litter for him, but i still need to bathe.
My daughter is only 15 months but is showing some signs of toilet training readiness? At home, she'll go hide behind the kitchen table and squat when she needs to poop. Outside, she'll hide behind the bushes. But she doesn't know how to pull down her pants and things like that. Should I start walking her to the potty chair when she hides behind the table? Is it too early for potty training? Um, she should have started already? At least here in the U.S., the norm is to start around 2 yrs old. The military daycare I worked at wouldn't even start working with kids on potty training until they turned 24 months old. I appreciate your answers... If it is actually true that your parent started the "early" potty training and trained you at 5 months, then don't be acting like its unheard of to start later. That's ridiculous.
How to introduce toilet training? My baby girl is about to turn two and want to start toilet training her but I don't know when or how to introduce it, please help??
Is anyone toilet training their cat and/or had success in doing so? I am currently toilet training my 2 seven month old kitties. I bought a device I found on the internet called The Feline Evolution Catseat. They are using it on the floor and are about 9 or 10 days into the training. Today I made a major change and took out the white tray, raised the box up and I am using the little baggies that come with it to catch their business instead of the tray. I hope they use it this way....if anyone has any experience training a cat to use a toilet, I would love to hear about it! Thanks! I saw Meet The Parents but that is NOT why I am doing this. I want to eventually have a baby and I don't want to get rid of my cats on account of not being able to live with dirty litter! Also, it is just much cleaner without a smelly box around !!! I saw Meet The Parents but that is NOT why I am doing this. I want to eventually have a baby and I don't want to get rid of my cats on account of not being able to live with dirty litter! Also, it is just much cleaner without a smelly box around !!! Oh, another thing...I have two bathrooms so they will have their own toilet to use whenever they want.
